HID DFU SDK

Overview

The HID Firmware update SDK provices tools for macOS to support wired USB firmware updates for Qualcomm/CSR BlueCore devices using the HID DFU protocol.

The core driver is written in C++ and is supplied with a command line tool that can be launched from within a firmware update application, communicating over STDIO pipes using JSON objects. A corresponding Windows command line tool which uses the same API can also be supplied, facilitating development of cross-platform firmware updater tools (please note that theWindows tool requires a licence from Qualcomm to use the Windows HID DFU updater library – this is not included in the kits below and must be obtained directly from Qualcomm).

Additionally, a native macOS application that uses the SDK can be supplied, requiring little more than customisation of the UI and graphics to deliver a branded solution.

All SDKs are supplied with full source code with a permissive licence that allows any use for any number of products sharing the same USB idVendor code.
